Now that my collection has grown into something I am really proud of and enjoy, I think it's time for me to reevaluate how I am storing them. Some of my packs are in "Max Protection" 15-Card hinged plastic cases - my original thought was that I was going to store the majority of my packs in these cases. But then I discovered that, while some packs fit beautifully in them, others do not, and I don't want to scratch up a pack forcing it into a case not sized right for it. After that, I started storing most of my collection in BCW Team Set Bags, though those aren't exactly sized correctly either. Those packs have about half-an-inch on either side of the pack of extra space. Theoretically, I could push the pack to one side, fold the other side and tape it, but that feels clunky. So, my first question is: How do you store your individual packs? But after that comes the question of how to store the entire collection. Currently my collection resides in photo boxes, each with 3 rows of packs. I've been looking online at card cases lately, though trying to confirm the dimensions of the actual padded slots has been a struggle. I don't intend on taking the packs on the road with me, so a carry case might not be necessary, but it also feels a little odd to house expensive packs in $3.50 photo boxes from an art supply store. The upside to the photo boxes is knowing that the collection will always be stored upright, and not jostled around. The downside is knowing that one of my kidlets could potentially knock over a box. The majority of my collection is non-graded loose packs - so that's what I'm looking to store. What do YOU store your collection in? The photo below is of one of my photo boxes. The Laugh-In pack (from Gary Owens' estate!) is in a hinged plastic case. The Creature Feature is in a BCW Team Set bag. The Mod Squad pack is in a plastic bag with a hard top-loader behind it, which is how I received it from the seller.
